Just finished our Entrepreneurship Project in Orientation to Business. Just when I think I know everything about some of these successful entrepreneurs, students find new information to share. Did you know that Howard Schultz bought Starbucks after working there, and his motivation for making it such a success was the fact the previuos owners would not listen to any of his ideas? Love learning from my students!
"But back in Seattle, the Starbucks owners resisted Schultz's plans to serve coffee in the stores, saying they didn't want to get into the restaurant business. Frustrated, Schultz quit and started his own coffee-bar business, called Il Giornale. It was successful, and a year later Schultz bought Starbucks for $3.8 million."
